Feasibility and Techno-Economic Analysis of Electric Vehicle Charging of PV/Wind/Diesel/Battery Hybrid Energy System with Different Battery Technology

Promoting the development of green technologies and replacing fossil fuel vehicles with electric ones can abate environmental anxieties issues associated energy supply security. The increasing demand for requires an upgrade expansion available charging infrastructure to accommodate fast public adoption this type transportation. Ethiopia set a pro-electric cars policy made them excise-free even before first vehicle stations were launched by Marathon Motors Engineering in 2021. This paper presents ever technical, economic evaluation powered hybrid intermittent generation systems three cities Ethiopia. tests model using different battery types: Lead-acid (LA), Flow-Zince-Bromine (ZnBr) Lithium-ion (LI), used individually. Using these technologies, proposed are then compared terms system sizing, economy, technical performance stability. results show that feasible configuration Solar Photovoltaic (PV)/Diesel Generator (DG)/ZnBr provide lowest net present cost (NPC), values $2.97M, $2.72M $2.85M, (COE), $0.196, $0.18 $0.188, Addis Ababa, Jijiga Bahir Dar, respectively. Of all systems, Wind Turbine (WT)/PV/LI, PV/LI WT/PV/LI configurations have highest NPC COE Dar. configuration, demonstrate ZnBr is most favorable choice because parameters, including total COE, found be lowest.
